Welcome To Sixth Form
Sixth Form at Hugh Christie has something to offer all students, whatever their ability. As well as a full academic A level programme, we also offer a range of vocational courses at Level 3, including Level 3 BTEC and CTEC qualifications and the Tonbridge Angels Academy pathway.
Achievements
We are a successful academic Sixth Form. This year all students wishing to go to university achieved a place, including at Russell Group Universities. In 2022, our results were a 98% pass rate with 79% of these grades being A* to C. Vocational subjects had a pass rate of 100%, with 67% of these grades being Distinction and above.
Facilities
The school has excellent facilities for Sixth Form students. Specialist subjects are very well-resourced. Students have access to a large Common Room and a dedicated area in the supervised Study Room.
Community
Sixth Form students are expected to play an active role in not only the Sixth Form community but the wider school and local community as well. All students take on a Service Learning activity, which could include being part of a social or sports committee, peer mentoring for younger students, supporting a department or participating in an activity outside of school.
Students are encouraged to develop their enterprise skills and have organised visits to Alton Towers, West End theatres, organised their own Christmas party and the ever-popular annual Summer Prom.
We are delighted each year to welcome international students into our Sixth Form. Over the years we have welcomed students from all over the globe, ranging from Germany, Czech Republic, Norway and even as far as Japan.
It creates many cross-cultural opportunities for both our guests and our own students who benefit tremendously from the experience.
