Hugh Christie School works with a number of training providers including Kent & Medway Training (KMT), Teack Kent & Sussex (TK&S), Teach in Kent (TiK), University of Brighton, Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) and University of Greenwich.
We offer placements for trainees taking both QTS and PGCE and School Direct (salaried and non-salaried) routes into training.
Every year we train a number of Associate Teachers and have a successful record of employing many of these trainees at the end of their training year.
We are also committed to offering School Experience to anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in teaching.
Aims & Objectives:
-
To provide those in ITT with a bridge to assist them in achieving effective professional practice.
-
To provide all trainee teachers with targeted support in their teaching practice, which will in turn help them to give their best to their pupils and make a real and sustained contribution to school improvement and raising classroom standards.
-
To provide a foundation for trainee teachers’ long-term continuing professional development.
-
To ensure that all staff acting as mentors are aware of and fulfil their roles and responsibilities in the procedure.
